Letterform Design

  1. I believe that this design is quirky and unique, as is the company that I designed for. It is non-traditional, as shown by the preference of pink over the traditional red color for Christmas colors in the interior and exterior. I kept the design regarding the two tones on the bag consistent, however, with their regular season bags.

  2. It portrays a type of young, hip, and at the same time refined happiness, consistent with the expensiveness of the brand while making it joyful enough to showcase the holiday season

  3. I believe that they would, because it embodies what the company would want their target audience to be; someone who is young and fun, yet can afford the brand. I believe that the interior design is also representative of the company, based on how stripes are one of their classic prints.

  4. The color choice involved along with the string light silhouette, combined with the interior stripes makes it stand out against other bags. It would be easily discernable, since it is very bright and eye catching, yet not overwhelming.

  5. I placed two rectangles filled with different colors split with the white rectangle on top being larger than the green one on the bottom. I then used the pen tool to create the illusion of white ‘string’ being wrapped around the bags, and used image trace to create vector lights to ‘attach’ to the bag, using the same green, pink, and white. I also image traced the Kate Spade logo and placed it onto the white section of the bag after coloring it using the same green. Lastly, I downloaded a font to make the words “Be Merry. Be Bright.”, and colored it using the same color palette as previously mentioned.
